It's Yellow Season
With a sprinkling of orange. The Day Lilies are still going strong. Yellow Finch (aka Flying Lemon) at the Back Porch Cafe and the Heliopsis (aka False Sunflowers) are blooming some in new spots in the dooryard garden. They like to migrate. And then there is the Ladie's Bedstraw, (aka Creeping Jenny, Ladies Tresses and Goose Grass). It has long been used for medicinal purposes like treating cancer, epilepsy, hysteria, spasms, tumors, loss of appetite, and chest and lung ailments although there is no strong scientific basis for that. I just like its frothy yellow bloom, and it is very hardy. Extreme heat is over, and we may be getting some heavy rain later this morning. John is coming early but we'll see what he can accomplish.
