Try something new every day...

In hindsight, perhaps not such a good idea. I was wandering around Tesco looking to see what products could be shoplifted without security tags when I came across their 'reduced' section. Usually it is stuff that is 'best before' yesterday. I noticed a can of Pease Pudding (or Pease Pottage if you're posh). I have never had Pease Pudding before, I was intrigued, and at a discounted 25 pence well worth a punt. The serving suggestion images on the back were of sophisticated fancy vol-au-vent. 'On to a winner here' I thought.

Perhaps it will be perfect with some fish. On opening the can I was presented with a thick yellow mush. I read the ingredients, 'flavoured with Tarragon and Saffron', sadly it tasted of thick yellow mush. Anything less enhancing to a vol-au-vent would be hard to imagine. Those marketing people have suckered me out of 25p.

(It wasn't entirely unpleasant but I can't see it becoming a staple in the ForthPorts Mansion)
