Runnin’ Down A Dream
Having started running again at the end of May, I’ve not been out for over four weeks, due to the weather and acting commitments - mainly the weather, it has to be said.
Today has been bright and sunny however, so I strapped up the knee and set off to do a couple of laps of my “flat” circuit. In all honestly, it was probably too hot (mad dogs, Englishmen, midday sun and all that!) and my knee started to suffer towards the end. Not as badly as it has in the past, but I was glad to have a trolley to hang on to in Sainsbury’s this afternoon. Hopefully a good nights rest will see it right, though I do need to cut the lawns later this evening, when it cools down a bit.
I took the picture when I realised I needed to tack a bit on to the end of the run to get the overall distance up to 5K. Stopping to check Strava (boo! Still 300 metres to go) I was taken by how nice the view up the river to Nether Bridge was. Now, I’ll take any opportunity for a brief rest in my runs so switched the phone over to the camera and grabbed a couple of shots before reluctantly shuffling off again to complete the run.
Happy I’ve managed the distance but hoping I haven’t damaged the knee again. Must remember to tell my trainer I’m not doing anything “legs” in tomorrow’s PT session!
