Pont du Gard

What are Sundays for, if not a bit of sightseeing? The Minx scored a hole in one by suggesting we go and visit a Roman aqueduct. To be honest, she had me at Roman.

So, we had an enjoyable drive out, enjoying the countryside in the glorious weather, before arriving at the visitors' car park.

From there, we followed the path, through the well appointed arcade, and came to the aqueduct itself.

You can, of course, read all about it on Wikipedia, or even visit it yourself, but the one fact I will highlight is that the engineering was so precise that its gradient is 1cm per 182.4m. Nice work, the Romans!
