Istanbul treasures
This morning I took the Art group to the Sabanci Museum in Emirgan where we marvelled at the exquisite calligraphy of the Book Arts Collection exhibition of hand written and decorated with gold inlay manuscripts from C14th - C19th. More information here. It is a small museum, perfectly situated in beautiful grounds on the shores of the Bosphorus with panaoramic views of the Asian shore and easily one of my favourite places to visit in Istanbul.
After an 'at home' afternoon with some chores (inc, laundry) accomplished, I then met Maura, friend and ex-colleague, for much needed catch up with drink and pizza at Eylul restaurant and bar in Arnavutkoy.
