Steve Redgrave and Mathew Pinsent?
Today I went to the Rowing Museum at Henley on Thames. This is a huge sculpture in the car park made quite a few years ago after they won Olympic gold together not sure of the likeness. Took grandson and there were so many changes since my previous visit about 15 years ago. A really good Wind in the Willows studio tour of excellent sculptures and scenes of artwork. Also the history of boats around the world, boat races, rowing, lots about rivers etc etc.
See the extras…an artwork made from old keys from dumpster keyboards which I thought was interesting and part of the Wind in the willows exhibit..
Unfortunately the museum is closing in September as apparently does not have enough funding. I don’t think they advertise it very much and no signs on the roads going into Henley. They need a big sponsor.
I always like driving through Henley as they always have lovely hanging baskets throughout the town and lots of banners, flags , decorations for various festivals.
A nice temperature today! But maybe hotter again tomorrow.
