In The Style Of..!

Toby was not happy. He had only been sitting for 30 minutes and already 5 people had rudely tickled him...


I thought I'd get the 52Frame image done early this week. The theme 'In The Style Of..!' is intended to be a homage to a visual artist who inspires you without doing a straight copy.

The artist who has most inspired me in my life is Norman Rockwell. Over his lifetime he created different styles of images from basic magazine illustrations to lifelike masterpieces. The thing that I liked most about his work was his use of humour, sometimes very subtle. He was a people person and their interaction with each other or their surrounding was important to his stories.

It might be why I like street photography so much. I like observing people and recording everyday folk going about their daily business. When you look back at historic photographs of buildings and streets that look much the same today it is the people that bring the images alive. 

I created this manage by processing the shot through the Paintbrush which was then lightly added over the original. I intended to get a hint of a real life painting.
