High Hopes…
… We have never had a single (edible) apple from either of the little trees that were here when we moved in here. One tree is James Grieve and the other an Egremont Russet.
Usually they are riddled with brown spots (or the squirrels have them, or both).
This year there was blossom but not a single apple on the one, but the other… Ooo… !
Blossom has turned into apples and they look as though they may be ok. (Mind you, I’ve been fooled before).
‘We’ll have to see’ (as the Elderly One used to say whenever he meant ‘definitely not’).
I have been trying to eat more healthily of late and haven’t had anything much that’s processed for a while.
I was doing quite well until today, when the lure of a white chocolate ice cream came upon me in a wave of irresistible crave.
I don’t even like white chocolate… (For those of us dipped in plain chocolate, it’s not even chocolate at all is it?).
It hit the spot anyway.
