Worn

I feel like I’ve seen a few more Small Tortoiseshell this year, but nothing like the numbers of 5-10 years ago when they were one of the commonest butterflies around.  This one was on its own, and looking a little worn, in the meadow in the park.

Later, I stopped off on my way home to catch another pre-season friendly: Guiseley v Harrogate Town. Guiseley had the better of the first half but missed a penalty, Harrogate had the better of the second and grabbed the only goal of the game late on. 0-1 it finished.
