From little acorns

There are huge numbers of acorns on the oaks in these parts this year.

I am not sure of this is natures way of forecasting a harsh winter to come or simply the product of the long, wet spring.

Made for a colourful blip today though.

It makes me happy to look at my growing collection of pictures of this tree.
