Churring

Here is Jill preparing supper for as both. Lots of the ingredients (such as the blackcurrants for the delicious tart) came from her own garden, which made the meal extra special. The redcurrants were from a plot in Dumfries where Jill works with Incredible Edible to provide food which everyone can share.

After eating, we made plans for a holiday we are going on together (details nearer rhe tume!) and then we drove to a location which I shall also not reveal, to look for nightjars. These are rare birds which migrate to the UK for a brief summer spell. They emerge at dusk to hunt for moths. We had a magical time listening to their “churring” and then we actually saw two flying above us and landing in the trees. It was just nice to be out in the countryside after dark - like bivvying but without going to sleep!

I was back at almost midnight…hence the late blip.
