Gatekeeper Butterfly

A larger gathering at Christine’s for house group - the other group joined us because their leader Jenny is away in holiday. Christine and David announced that they’ve won the Best Garden in Tiptree award for the second year in a row, so we all went outside to admire it while it’s in tip top condition. I haven’t seen so many different butterflies and pollinators for a very long time! There were almost literally clouds of them on all the flowers. I took lots of photos, all lovely and colourful, but have chosen this one of a Gatekeeper, or Hedge Brown, butterfly (Pyronia tithonus) foraging on a large daisy.
