Attacking

D was upset when he went out with his scythe this morning to find an eviscerated leveret on the lawn. We think (from feathers found nearby) that it must have been the victim of a buzzard. Very sad- we have so loved having hares in our garden this Spring. We buried it under the horse chestnut tree.

D mowed for an hour or so until he discovered another wasps’ nest. Four stings as he backed away from the angry crowd of disturbed stripey people :-( And as I moved the grass, the clegs and midgies moved in on me. I hope a nice breeze whips up to deter them before we have Fire Wednesday this evening.

I am taking a wee break from the garden to start a new knitting project - Seraph Mitts by Nicola Diggins, the pattern inspired by the Watts Chapel at Compton which I visited with Sarah https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seraph-mitts
