Safeguarding
** Backblip for Thursday 3rd July 2025 **
St Luke’s in the morning, and our usual coffee. After lunch I caught up with a couple of important emails, then settled down to the tedious task of finishing the online Church of England safeguarding course and exam. Whilst I’m very glad they now take safeguarding seriously, the course and the questions are rather needlessly wordy which means it takes ages to wade through. You get two goes at answering each question - get it wrong the first time and you’re given the chance to go back and answer it again. The pass mark is 75%, and I managed a respectable 84%. I then had to email our church’s safeguarding officer with the certificate to let her know I’d passed so she could add me to her spreadsheet. Everyone on the PCC has to do it, plus others who fulfil various roles within the church.
I ran out of time for a blip, so this is the beautiful embroidery on a luxurious real silk cushion on my sofa. I bought it many years ago, but cannot now recall where from.
