Between fen and mountains

Marmots

We walked high today up to 2250 metres up the Eyne valley which is famous for its wildflowers. We saw Pyrenean gentians, marmots and many other wildflowers as well as lots of butterflies. The path followed the stream all the way up with several waterfall cascades. We ended up in high mounted pasture with amazing views back to the Cerdagne plateau. In all we walked 13 kilometres with 680 metres of ascent.
