Falcons and Sheepdogs

Another lovely hot day - I met a friend at Garden Centre out in the sticks..... had a very enjoyable time chatting, trying to snap insects, looking at their huge collection of gnomes (!) and even trying on clothes (not my idea of 'fun' at all).
This evening three of us went to a  Falconry and Sheepdog Event held locally.  This is held at David Kennard's farm - he's been on the TV with his wonderful dogs I believe - every Wednesday.  The birds are shown by Martin Simkins who has had them for many years, training them since they were very, very young.  Such a fun event and as usual I tried hard with the wrong lens, in harsh light etc.  But just watching these magnificent beasts was a joy.
The dogs had fun retrieving sheep, taking them through various gates etc. 
To end we had a fun time with some Runner Ducks being shepherded over bridges etc.  The kids in the crowd loved that as did I, as I really love runners....Comical birds.
A most enjoyable and very warm evening.
