Finally getting a deck for my Sn3
Yesterday I completed the main wiring stuff, switch dcc controls, and a couple of boards that stop sparks, etc. Today I got going with the first 2" layer of styrofoam. Three 2" by 4' by 8' got up to the new train room and almost finished the first layer. Three are waiting or the second layer. Tomorrow will work and I will have 4" of base. Following that will be a 1" by 4' by 8' that will be the top.
I know that this is not everyone's way but it works great for me. The switch motors hang under the 1" styrofoam and does not stick out of the bottom sheet. And it deadens the train noise so the sounds are clearer.
I also need to refresh the backdrop photos and will after the styrofoam stage is done. Dolores is different from Mancos and Durango.
What the blip shows on the right will be Dolores, Mancos ahead on the left, and RGS Durango is on the far left wall out of the shot. The thing sticking out is the place where the "Y" turn around will be.
Now - I get to vacuum up a pile of little red styrofoam bits which are stuck to EVERYTHING.
