(190) Upgrade
Last year I took the gravel bike out on a ride from Whitby along the Esk valley and had to give in and push the bike up some steep, rough tracks. This year, on the Levo, I'm doing a similar route and easily riding up the steepest tracks with (relative) ease. The Creo is still faster and more efficient on most tarmac surfaces but the Levo just pushes on through all of the rough stuff, whether up or down hill. I know that some people look down their noses at e-bikes but, for me, this machine simply opens up the possibility of turning back the clock and riding the sort of stuff I used to enjoy on 'analog' bikes many years ago. It's also very liberating being able to just drop a few hundred feet down a road just to see what's there, without having to worry about having enough energy to get back to base in decent shape.
Extras today are a view from the path alongside the railway track from Whitby to Ruswarp, and a shot from Grosmont station, on the NYMR line.
