The sun came out! And it has felt warm enough to garden in just a shirt. Just for one day mind you: we are back to cloud and rain tomorrow.
Still, it has been wonderful. And I have - predictably - spent the day outdoors: first in G's garden; and then Chez M&B all afternoon.
Of course Beanio and I had our walk. Today we went to a friend's property a couple of km up the hill. These poplars line a track which leads to their dam. They inherited the poplars, and don't much like them, so they have interplanted them with native trees, and put a row of oaks behind them. The poplars are due to be felled (for firewood) next winter.
The best thing about them is that they provide good perches for birds checking out the dam. I have seen herons and shags up there, and today a sacred kingfisher (Kotare) was on a high vantage point.
The extra is Mima's phone's eye view of that particular bird. You might just spot it.
My apologies for neglecting Blips a bit: tennis, cycling, and now sunshine are all conspiring against Blip-time.
