Worries
Gena, Terri and I met up at our usual restaurant, only to discover that it was closed for the owners' vacation. So instead of enjoying our Chinese favorites, we ended up around the corner getting fast food fried fish at Ivar's, a local chain. Terri is even thinner and her medical problems have not abated. And Gena is having a lot of pain that may be sciatica, but she can't see the pain doctor until the end of September. Terri also told me that Gena is starting to have some problems with her memory, which is very worrying. Even at 89 she's still sharp and I'm hoping that the small memory lapses won't get worse. Knowing these things makes me even more frustrated that they're so far away and I can't keep an eye on them or be there for them. Terri's daughter lives in Edmonds now and they've thought about moving to be closer to her, but that would be a huge disruption in their life. And it's likely to be another two months before I can see them again. We've known each other for more than 35 years.
It was a lot cooler today and will be tomorrow as well. These nasturtium are down on the terrace.
