Borage full of bees
I went down to my allotment early early to water thoroughly and give the plants a chance to drink up the water before it evaporated. I don’t think, for me, there’s anywhere much nicer than the allotments when it’s sunny and full of flowers and butterflies. Also bees. I’ve got a good size lavender bush - and that was attracting bumble bees - at least a dozen. There’s also several borage plants, which plant themselves every year. And they’re full of honey bees. I read somewhere that borage flowers replenish their supplies of nectar within minutes - which maybe explains why they’re so popular.
It was the first day of the new heatwave.
After the allotment I did a few errands at the ‘retail park’ which is annoyingly convenient. Annoying because you have to drive to it. By about 11am it was feeling really hot already and I was at home for the rest of the day. At least 4 more days to come, even hotter.
