In the Flesh.
I knew of them, having seen photos in Catalogues; but I've never been face to face with one.
T B H I didn't really fancy one; especially at 20 quid a throw - BUT - if I see "a new one" I always look it up. This time I found a surprise.
You read/see/think Himalayas and your mind leaps to Everest and you think Snow and Ice, and maybe Gales - THEN - you read:
"Temperature Preferences
Optimal Range: 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F)
Minimum Tolerance: Some species can tolerate temperatures as low as 5°C (41°F) but may not thrive.
Maximum Tolerance: Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 30°C (86°F) can stress the plants."
SO - Not frost hardy then? Followed by - even allowing for Global warming, I can't see us having many days "in XS" of 30˚C?
Comical aside. YONKS ago, while we still has a Woolworths Alice & I were wandering around upstairs and I spotter a CD by a Group; the name of which I, in my ignorance, tried to pronounce as a word - "Inxs"; it actually said "INXS". Here's a clue as to how long ago it was:-
"In 2009, all UK stores shut down, ˜ ˜ ˜ ˜"
