Life from city to village

Plitivice Lakes

This is a UNESCO world heritage site, actually the second one to make the list, after Yellowstone National Park. The lakes are formed because plant debris merges with the limestone to create tufa, which builds up to form barriers. There are only two sites in the world where this occurs, the second being in China. You can see the tufa barrier covered in plants by the walkway. It’s an incredible place to see.
