Garden Butterflies

It's so good to see so many butterflies and bees in the garden this year after the awful low numbers last year. I opened doors and windows first thing to try to cool the bungalow, so went out with my camera and there were about half a dozen gatekeepers on the small patch of alliums in the sun. I'm not sure I've seen a gatekeeper in the garden before. The peacock, comma and small white photos were taken this afternoon. When editing the small white I noticed the tiniest fly I've ever seen to the right of it - I love how we find things in Nature through photography that we didn't know about. I did some housework today, but also sat out for an hour this morning and another hour late afternoon. I so enjoyed the first semi final this afternoon, three very close sets where the outcome was uncertain and brilliant play. Well done to Anisimova on reaching her first grand slam final and also later to Swiatek on a masterful and easy win. A hot and sunny day, with more to come for several days.
