Thursday: Prickly Plants
Another sunny day, temperature around 20°C.
Today’s Blip of Acanthus spinosus (Bear’s breeches) and Globe Artichokes which are coming into flower in the front garden.
Collected together the assortment of saucers which I use for water for the birds, gave them a good scrub and filled with fresh water - since it’s been so dry the birds are making use of the water I put ours for drinking and bathing :-)
MrD took his electric bike in the back of his van, with the intention of parking in Porth Penrhyn Bangor and cycling along the path to Bethesda, he had a puncture and our very helpful friend went to rescue him …
I checked the washing basket, which was quite full and decided to do a wash which was only outside for an hour or so before it was dry … lucky really because we had some sea mist , which didn’t stay around too long either.
Potted on 3 Tomato seedlings “Tumbling Tom”, haven’t had much luck with tomatoes for past few years, we’ll see what happens :-))
I sat outside for quite a while too, just watching the birds, especially a young blackbird who’d discovered that the red gooseberries were ready to eat, I cut back some to the very large borage leaves which were hiding the fruit too!
MrD has just discovered a Jason Statham film which we haven’t watched, “Homefront”, so that’s my evening planned :-))
Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
