Graduation Day
Today was a special day. Up to Newcastle for the last* time for Lucy's graduation at Northumbria University.
Our second one, following Joe's a year ago in Leeds, today was another sunny and warm affair.
Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson gave one of her final speeches as Chancellor, as this will be her last year before she steps down, full of emotion as she described what a brilliant place it is.
Lucy graduated with the university winning The Times Modern University of the Year 2025. She also graduated with a 1st too.
3 years ago there was disappointment as she missed out on a place at Newcatsle University, to do the same course. A Uni I had gone too, one I could see down the road today BUT that disappointment is forgotten, and may even have been misplaced anyhow...she's loved every minute and its a town where students from both mix and live in shared accommodation.
Weirdly, there were 2 Lucy Brereton's graduating today, they met in week 1 of year 1, but out of all the names, not sure anyone else doubled up today!
I'm very proud of her and her big [lol] brother, just wish my mum and dad could have met them and seen them get to days like today.
Anyway....she's already back at to work tomorrow!
*bollocks, we'll be back, can't keep away!
