My Neighbour Totoro

Ages ago Anna and I took the day off work and booked tickets for this award winning show  in the West End.  The main reason was because Kumiko Mendl was in it, who was a much loved performer at the 2010 Linton Children's Bookfestival, and has childhood connections with Anna.

We went via Anna's Mum's house in Watford and were treated to scones in the garden with Jamie who has been staying for a while.  What a glorious day, and what a lovely time.

We then took the tube to the Gillian Lynne Theatre and discovered that Kumiko's part was being played by someone else that afternoon!

But, it didn't matter...  the experience was truly magical, surreal, Japanese, and very moving.  I'm glad I watched the Netflix animation though to understand the gentle story as it does get very magical.

Back to Watford for a bite to eat before driving back to Linton, rustled up with no fuss and no notice.
