Clubbing

Lunch today was at the Royal Scots Club in Abercromby Place. My wife was meeting up with a former colleague and her husband. Through a friend of theirs we were guests at the Club. It was one of their sons who stayed with us last summer when he was performing at the Fringe. An attempt to meet up then was thwarted by me getting Covid and as they are in their 80s we thought it wiser to cancel.

So they had a lot to catch up on. The rest of us had a good long chat over lunch and coffee while they caught up and shortly after 5 we headed home and they back to Glasgow. A long lunch.

It has been many years since I was in the building to give a talk and I got a tour seeing the modern development which have been made. The entrance hall with its memorabilia and the regimental drum ( which I think we saw at the Quintinshill exhibition on 23 May) has retained its traditional feel.
