A Trip To Elma Avenue
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
When me and my sister were kids we'd occasionally spend weekends at my nan's place in Bridlington.
We'd stay up late and watch old black and white films and for some reason, The Beast With Five Fingers was always on.
We'd sit and have tea and toast late at night and I found the film terrifying. Which is embarrassing, but then on the other hand I was like six years old.
Abi loves stories from the past like this. So I suggested a Return to Elma Avenue Night. We agreed we would watch "The Beast With Five Fingers" followed by "The Haunting".
It was SO MUCH FUN.
Neither film was particularly scary, but Abi loved them both. She loved the cheese and melodrama but she LOOOOOVED the atmospheric psycho-drama of "The Haunting".
She wants to do it again soon. And so do I. There are just TOO MANY FILMS. TOO MANY.
I think I need her to keep living next door for the next three years.
Anyway, this is me hamming it up as Peter Lorre gets strangled.
S.
