Chicory

Cichorium intybus

I love the sky/china blue flowers of the chicory plant. Not so much the coffee substitute! 

This year I have three tall chicory plants and I noticed the first flowers today.  Is it a wildflower? I'm not sure but I'll call it one this week. Thank you Miranda! The poor plants have been badly bashed by the wind but I've staked them up and they seem to be ok. 

I have a very busy day ahead so I'll look at blip when I can. The main activity is packing for a week away starting tomorrow. We aren't going far at all but I still need to sort myself out.
