Conwy Quayside

After yesterday’s Llangollen trip, today is largely spent recovering. Much of this is spent sorting through the huge number of photos taken, writing my blip entry and deciding which photos to post (all a day late as usual) - then an attempt to catch up with other journals. It’s too hot to go out anyway, and there’s the women’s semi-finals to watch.

The evening brings a trip to Conwy where our camera club has a social meet.  We have these events throughout the summer - a chance to catch up and to take some photographs, and this time it’s on Conwy quayside.  I arrive early and potter around taking various shots.  I’m largely uninspired by the water and the boats; later the light will be much better and the water will still to provide beautiful reflections, but not now.

I find myself focusing instead on ropes and chains and lobster pots - the detritus found along the quayside of any small fishing port. Birds are restricted to gulls and jackdaws, so there’s another photographic subject.

I have to leave as G is playing in a concert in the town’s beautiful old church. It’s goes extremely well, G also playing in a string quintet playing pieces composed by one of the cellists who died very suddenly a few months back. The concert is dedicated to his memory.
