Gently down the stream

Purple Toadflax

Linaria purpurea

Confession of the day is that I didn't go very far at all to get my blip, it's just been too hot.  I think tomorrow is going to be slightly hotter at 31 degrees but the online forecast is saying Lymington will be 6 degrees cooler at max 25, so that's probably where I'll land up.  Meanwhile, being aware it's high time for posting a wildflower shot, here is a lovely spike of purple toadflax.  Beautiful, isn't it?  And in extras I've added the tiger moth I found resting on a leaf down by the Nuns' Stream.  Unfortuately it isn't showing any of its scarlet underwing.  I thought afterwards I should have tickled it with a piece of grass but it would probably just have flown off, so better I left it in peace.

Not much else to report.  J got a lot of his stuff out of storage and landed it on us last night so the place is a tip (his job for this weekend, not mine).  Meanwhile Duke, poor hot dog, is wedded to one of the fans and is louging around with his face as close to it as he can get.  And I, with the threat of a likely hosepipe ban, have a LOT of watering to do tonight!

Take care, lovely blippers, and stay safe and cool  xx

PS: The toadflax really was growing at this mad angle!
