Helios

A 7 m diameter sculpture of the Sun, suspended in the portico of Osterley House. The sculptor is Luke Jerram. The surface shows the appearance of the Sun and there were accompanying sound effects. Fittingly, we had a long hot walk to reach it, but also enjoyed the grounds of Osterley Park, the tearoom and bookshop. The black stand is about 4 m in front of the sculpture, but designed to give the impression that the sphere is sitting on it.
