Ramblings and Mutterings

Award Winner to Job Seeker

All set for the big meeting.

There was an attempt at small talk when the CEO arrived in the office, I couldn't be arsed.

I dropped a few hints to a couple of my colleagues as they came in, they couldn't quite believe it.

And so the big meeting arrived. I went eye to eye with him, he couldn't look at me. Lots of waffle. As it is only me being put at risk the consultation period can be over by next Friday. And then they will have a go at my team with me out of the way. They have said they would like me to take on a new finance role, which I already know about, but I'm done. My values no longer align with this business and I'm out.

My young padawan and head of h&s were told after the meeting. My wider team does not know as yet. There will be a few leaving now I think. I've gone from an award winner to job seeker within a few weeks. I ought to write a book on it. Lol!

I went for a walk around the block and started to talk to people. In the short term I will probably set up my own consultancy, until something more permanent comes my way. If it does?

I changed the time of train to bring it forward. I wasn't going to work in that office any longer than I needed to.

Caught up with my young padawan and head of h&s whilst I was waiting for my train. They are both furious and quite shaken by the news. It won't be long before they both leave. Not working with my young padawan will be the hardest part of it all.

Train journey home was ok.

I've put the feelers out, I've even applied for a job with the Museum of Wales already. The rest of the weekend will be looking to set up my own consultancy and start to plan for the future.

It has been scorching again today.

Hoping for a quiet weekend.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Holding my emotions during the meeting
2.  Fish and chips for tea
