Scapa Flow
Weather wise a spectacular day; even a fitting tribute to the Summer of 1976. The cloud Olympics over the Flow was spectacular. More felt on the shed roof, then a walk up to the Hoy Heritage Centre for a planned work day directed by the Heritage Officer. My first task was to clean out the ladies and gents facilities; it's going to boost my CV. Meantime Tommy remained in residence. The GP had asked him to attend her Hoy surgery to have his blood sampled. (He arrived on his tractor, in fact in his eighties he's never owned a car). However, for some mystifying reason, the Community Centre door was locked. Blood sampling and weighing etc took place in the body of the Kirk. Tommy is easily in the top three of the most Orcadian spoken Orcadians. A superb storyteller. There was even new life at Quoydale with a day old calfie. How l maintain this pace I'll never know
