Martin but which one?
I thought I would have a quiet hour this morning people watching on the beach before the heat kicked in around lunchtime.
However G came over to update us on J and as she was leaving I asked if she fancied coming down with me and having an ice cream.
In the end we took Buddy too, their dog, all three of us getting a bit mucky as the ice creams melted. Mine dripped down my arm; the top of hers fell off, down her leg and onto Buddy, but it didn’t really matter as we had a lovely hour sitting on the wall and chatting.
I took several pictures and when I got home this was the one I liked the best.
I’m fairly sure it’s a House Martin. My bird app told me a couple of days ago that there are sand martins and barn swallows flying over us here, but their colouring and shape (in the case of the swallows) is quite different.
Looks better large.
If anyone disagrees, do say :-)
This afternoon I had a lovely catch up with Nicoiseannie. Seems it’s a wee bit hotter down south. Hope it cools down soon.
