Getting Lucky

There are three flavours of auk that breed around Sumburgh Head - there are lots of puffins and guillemot youngsters, so with a bit of patience it's not too difficult to spot them.

The razorbills are a different sort of auk. There aren't very many of them and they do tend to nest in the more inaccessible places.  But this year there have been razorbills nesting in a couple of more visible nest holes - I was very pleased when this wee chap pushed his way past its doting parents to have a brief look at the great outdoors.
