Just call me Ma'am!
What great news yesterday and today.
Julia, despite her battle with cancer and having to recover from the operation etc. she has completed her Officer Training at RAF College Cranwell.
She is now Flying Officer Julia Rose, Congratulations to her, we are all very proud of course.
Officer ranks start at Pilot Officer, then Flying Officer, Flight Lieutenant, Squadron Leader, Wing Commander and Group Captain. Then come the Air Ranks.
So she has skipped Pilot officer due to her excelling on the course, plus her previous service (she joined up in 2008).
And then, on top of all of that, she has also received an award.
The Sarah Moland Memorial Prize, which is awarded to the cadet who has demonstrated outstanding qualities of courage and fortitude to complete MIOT (Officer Training).
I think she may go far in the time she has left in the Royal Air Force.
We are travelling to Cranwell on the 16th July to attend the passing out parade on the 17th and then travelling back to Gloucester for the girls to attend their last half day at their school here.
