Flare

I started to suspect last night that I might be having a flare up - it’s been a few years since the last one (Dec 2021 following a Covid booster) so I’d hoped my immune system had decided to behave. Sadly not. As today has progressed my right hand, right foot and right thigh have all swelled. Difficult to photo the extent of the swelling but I cannot use my right hand to grip at all as everything is so swollen.

After work I mostly moped in the cool bedroom having a one woman pity party. No swimming in the sea or anything enjoyable. The flare brings with it additional flu like symptoms as if the lingering cold wasn’t enough. So running hot then cold, achiness and fatigue.

That’s that really. Maxed out on antihistamines, painkillers and ibuprofen. If no better in the morning, I’ll crack open the steroids. Deep joy.
