Goodbye old friend

Today was dominated by the funeral of my friend and mentor John Dent. JD was a kind, gentle man and a brilliant archaeologist who taught me so much. He gave me my break in archaeology and I owe him a great deal, The funeral was as jolly as it could be and I had the chance to catch up with some folks I haven’t seen in almost two decades. Strange melancholy day.
