Steamin'
We had 9mm of rain yesterday afternoon and evening. The ground was already sodden, so it's been squelchy and muddy underfoot today. And as the sun rose, warming up our bit of the world a little bit, this swamp which feeds the creek at the bottom of the hill began to steam gently. Irresistible.
I have been making Camemberts much of the day: it quite an involved process compared to other cheeses, and demands my attention every 30 minutes for several hours.
Fortunately there were the two men's semi-finals from Wimbledon to watch while I faffed with the cheese :-)
In between those occupations I have been making notes about age-proofing Chez M&B. I want to live here as long as I possibly can, and there are things I can put in place now which will make life easier for me in 10 or even 20 years time. More of which to come...
Bean and I had time for a walk while the milk ripened. She is in the extra. Backlit and waiting for me to get going...
