Around the Block

We visited the Grand Egyptian Museum for the first time today. It’s an impressive building very much in the Pharonic style, by architects Heneghan Peng based in Ireland. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. We spent two and a half hours exploring its spaces (Tutankhamen’s artefacts are not yet in place), before a walk down memory lane to our old flat in Dokki with dinner at La Trattoria catching up with the waiters, including Mohammed - the food and place was as good as ever!
