Summer colours
As most of today was about the journey it’s only fitting to add a picture of life on the road. We left Edinburgh at around 9 and headed across to the meet up with Jonathan, Susannah and Eliza at the Green Welly stop at Tyndrum (‘it was all I could think of,’ said V somewhat tragically). We drove round Stirling, through Callendar, alongside loch Etive (check!) and Bannockburn, refreshing ourselves on Scottish history via Wikipedia whilst the signal held out ‘ Was Rob Roy before William Wallace, did Robert the Bruce beat Edward I or II?’ Once we’d got medieval Scottish history sorted we achieved GWS but found we had no signal for Vikram to prove how exactly on time we were.
We met up in the end then moved on to the Corran Ferry together, easy crossing and then a lunch at the Whitehouse restaurant in Lochaline before crossing on the 4pm ferry. Picked up a few things for supper at the Dervaig store and arrived joyfully at Treshnish. S and J are in Shieling and Eliza in the mezzanine in studio with us
A vase with a huge lily filled the kitchen with scent (thank you @treshnish!) and we sat out with gin and tonics, V cooked pasta and we had raspberries and cream and the Mull biscuits
I think planning with this group of highly opinionated people is going to be impossible! Watch this space - where will we end up!
