Life in Sunny Dubai

(12/7/25)
(I am attempting to catch up on several days!)

There was much to be done today, the most important of which was to get our International Driver's Permits. That got done first thing, and I was soon able to concentrate on work and getting as much done there as possible. The other big thing was to pack! G was well on her way on that front, I much less so. I don't normally struggle on this front, but today I had a lot on my mind.

Anyway, in between getting a massage whilst G had a pedicure and popping into Al Seef for G to get a pashmina of a very specific colour. That proved harder than we thought, not helped by the fact that most of the men who manage the stores can't tell the difference in colours, and there is always the thing that they want you to buy, what they have rather than what you went into the store for! The best part was being there at my favourite time of the day for photos.

We got home by 8 PM,  and I got help to disconnect the batteries for the two cars, and then Mahendra came and he helped move the plants from my balcony to the living room balcony and then put the dust cover over the Peugeot. That saved so much time and energy.

It took me a while to get my act together on the packing front (mainly because I had to do the ironing that didn't get done on the weekend). I finally got to bed at 2 AM.

PS. We managed to catch a news bulletin, and I was reminded of the 7/7 London bombings. This year marks the 20th anniversary of it. I still remember the euphoria of the news that London was going to host the 2012 Olympics, and then the next day... 7/7 happened.
