Tropical Plants and Art

We had a great day in Cairns. As usual, we started in the local Botanic Garden, in this case the very impressive Flecker Garden, one of my favourites. The main photo is of Yellow Saraca (Saraca thaipingensis), a native to Malaysia. The first extra is a collage of flower flowers from the same garden.

Later in the day we enjoyed the Cairns Regional Art Gallery, featuring works by northern Australian indigenous artists. I especially enjoyed a very large painting called Bugan Mungan by Melanie Hava. My second extra shows about 1/3 of the work, with some small featured details.
