Silver Washed Fritillary…

… a female I think. Can anyone tell me what the bumps on the back of the body are for, I can’t find any other photo quite like this one? Is she starting to lay her eggs? She has a droplet on the end of her body? Trying to answer those questions I now know the difference between the male with his stripes on the upper forewing (an old photo in extra) and the female without the stripes.

I had gone to the Wallcreeper site where I spotted a nest cleft, last year, but no movement today. I’m not having much luck with my bird photography at the moment!
