2025 Monday — Adrian the Tuner

At noon today we met Adrian, “The Piano Guy,” as he refers to himself. He was here to tune my piano. We were told when we purchased this preowned piano and had it move here, that we needed to let it sit for approximately a month so it could settle and adjust to the climate environment in our home. So that’s what we did.

After two hours of tapping every key and using his special tool, Adrian then played the piano. Oh my! Serious, gigantic, O My! The delight to our ears was enormous. And the bonus was the delight to our eyes; our view was spectacular. This was one of those days when we could see forever, not a bit of moisture in the ocean air; a very unusual day in the summer months here on California’s Central Coast.

Adrian will be back the end of this month to clean the insides of this baby grand piano. It was his suggestion to do this so that the insides will be polished and shiny. He will, according to him, completely disassemble the piano. He will take the insides outdoors to completely blow off the dust and then he will polish everything. This is all new to us. So we’ll be taking lots of photos that day.
