As Long As I Can See The Light
In Merseyside with Ma ‘Nerd for Folkie’s funeral.
A sad day, obviously, but a celebratory one too.
Among the tributes & readings was The Art of Supporting Each Other, a poem by Umaima Irfan, which I didn’t previously know & was read by Folkie’s good friend & multiple times blip subject, Sarah. It contains the lines:
‘Your hands, a balm for my weary soul,
cradle my fears in warm embrace,
and in your gaze, I find a lighthouse,
a beacon cutting through the fog of uncertainty,
guiding me home when the storms rage within.’
I think a lot of people thought of Folkie like that.
