Apple Mac users - Email issue

Last week my Macbook Pro laptop stopped being able to send emails. It could receive, view, open but just not send.
After prolonged chats with Apple it was found there is a bug after the latest update. Until it is fixed they advise users to select 'Never' for check spelling within the composing tab with Mail settings. Just thought I'd share.
