And today's weather ...

Compare and contrast with yesterday's backblip. However unlikely it may have seemed under yesterday's cloudless blue sky, the weather forecast was pretty accurate. It was overcast and humid in the morning. Only C and I showed up at the pool this morning. The water was very pleasant, the same temperature as the air at 26C. After about half an hour we heard a very distant rumble of thunder. The lifeguard leapt from her perch. "A storm's coming, I've got to close the pool immediately!" she exclaimed, shepherding us hurriedly out of the gate. There were a few spots of rain, but nothing dramatic.

A storm did indeed come, five hours later. We had about 35 mm of rain in the space of a couple of hours. The thunder moved closer, and there were some terrifically loud crashes very close by. Matisse crawled under a cushion on the sofa and stayed there until it was over. My blip was taken from the front step -- I wasn't going to venture any further. Features exuberant wisteria foliage.

So it's been a day at home; the house is nice and cool now. Sunny again tomorrow according to the forecast.
